Monthly Meditation

Monthly Meditation

It is not I, but the Christ within who does the work.

We relish summertime activities that nourish our physical bodies. And as we gather here today, we give thanks for the opportunity to re-new our spirits.

Let us take time now to center ourselves in the love of God, to refresh our minds and restore our souls as we pray for ourselves and peo-ple everywhere.

God is our source of inner peace.
We are serene in mind, heart, and soul.

In prayer, we open our hearts, minds, and souls to God. Our minds are still, our hearts are calm, and our souls are serene in the peaceful presence of God. In this receptive state, we feel a breath of renewal flow over us and within us.

Like welcoming shade on a hot afternoon, God’s presence calms us. We let our minds and bodies rest as we take respite and re-energize in the presence of absolute Love.

Peaceful and calm, we pray …

Freely expressing the wisdom of Spirit,
we are guided in right ways.

Seeking direction, we allow the wisdom and insight of Spirit to guide our thoughts, to energize within us a light of understanding, to show us the way to freedom.

We release any thoughts that would keep us from experiencing clarity and inner vision and open our minds to inspiration, creativity, and wisdom.

Resting in the light of God’s love, we are divinely guided. Open to the wisdom of Spirit, we pray …

The healing life of God infuses our beings.
We are healthy and strong.

The life of God flows in and through us like the waters of a gentle stream. Immersed in this life-giving presence, we breathe in whole-ness and peace. As we exhale, we let go of tension, doubt, and resentment. Every cell, fiber, and tissue of our beings awakens to the healing life flowing through our bodies.

We rest in an awareness of God’s healing life and open ourselves to renewed energy, increased strength, and a new zest for life. Each breath deepens our awareness of the healing life within.

In quiet acknowledgement of divine healing life, we pray …

We live each day in the prospering presence of God.
We are fulfilled.

In these quiet moments of prayer, our hearts and minds are open to the all-providing presence of God. Unlimited possibilities are open before us.

We live in abundance and greet each day as an opportunity for greater awareness of the good that is ours to claim. Refreshed by the assur-ance that today is ripe with opportunity, we are ready and willing to accept the bounty of the universe.

We are prosperous. Grateful for all that we have and all the good that is to come, we pray …

With peace in our hearts,
we bless the world with love and harmony.

The world is our family, and we hold all people in thoughts of love. We envision peace, harmony, and security in every household and see each person imbued with an ever-growing awareness of the power of divine love.

As we pray, we think of world leaders, of adults and children throughout the world as the loved and loving individuals they are cre-ated to be. Trusting the unconditional love of God within all, we envision people everywhere responding to one another in loving ways.

Confident that peace and harmony reign in our family and in our world, we pray …

This time of prayer has allowed us to separate ourselves from our daily routines, to take respite in the comforting presence of our Creator. As we prepare now to leave this time of sacred communion, let us hold onto the images, freedom, and peace our journey of faith has brought us.

Let us carry with us into the remainder of the day a greater awareness of God as our source of peace, healing, wisdom, and all good.

Let us know for ourselves and for the world around us the surety of peace that begins in our hearts and spreads throughout the world.

And let us seal this time of togetherness by affirming that all is well as we pray our “Prayer for Protection”:

Let us conclude by speaking “The Prayer of Protection” together:

The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches
over us.
Wherever we are, God is!
